Perhaps it’s the editor in me, but I love revising. Filling up a blank page is tough . . . and sometimes startlingly ugly (both the process and the product). But that stage is behind me. Now, with Writing Young Adult Fiction for Dummies, I’m in Stage 2: Revisions.
Today, about three minutes from now, I’ll dig into the edited manuscript that my fine (and fun) Wiley editors sent back me on Friday. I’m very excited because tweaking the sentences and paragraphs for clarity and (yay!) lighthearted language is my favorite part of writing. It’ll be like taking the muffler off and hearing the voice loud and clear. For me, that’s when a manuscript really comes alive.
Plus, it’s that much closer to publication. Yay again.
