Technological Blind Spot
We’ve never had TV reception, so all my sons know is videos. Now, watching the Olympics live on a T.V., the boys can’t believe it isn’t possible to fast forward to see who wins.
“Can you please go to the end, Mommy?”
“You can’t go to the end. This is T.V.”
“No, I mean fast forward.”
“You can’t fast forward. This is happening right now. It’s not a video.”
“No, I mean go to the end of the game so we can see who wins.” (Imagine an eye roll with that one. This poor boy can’t believe he has to suffer such a mental lightweight.)
“Love, the game isn’t over. Those people are playing table tennis right now, in London, at this very minute. We are watching the game as it happens.”
“Oh. Well, can you pause it then so I can go to the bathroom?”
