Thirsty?
You are? Well then, how about a cup of pink lemonade? San Diego is heading into another heat wave, after all, and there’s no sweeter way to cool off. Best of all, as you down that cold cup of pink sweetness, you will be sticking it to cancer, big time.
I and the four other triplet moms on my “Breast Cancer 3-Day” walking team are launching the Pink Lemonade Project this weekend. Check out this awesome website, www.PinkLemonadeProject.com, and see for yourself. The jist of it is, we moms and our five young trios will be manning a pink lemonade stand, with the money we raise going to our fundraising pot for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We hope to do this several times before summer runs out. Our first stand will be held this Saturday, September 19th, at San Diego’s stunning Seaport Village, from 10am to 3pm. Just look for us on the grass behind the Harbor House restaurant, near the water and next to the blue amphibious bus pickup. You can’t miss us, we and our five trios will all be there, decked out in “Triplets v. Cancer” t-shirts, with pink balloons flying and pink lemonade flowing.
If you can’t stop by the stand at Seaport Village, you can indulge in a virtual cup at our Virtual Lemonade Stand on the website. (I made up the logo myself. Not too shabby, eh? And my first-born son took the photo of the pink lemonade. This is definitely a family effort!) When you’re done sipping, spread the word to family and friends by whipping up a second batch or our special Fizzy Pink Lemonade recipe. Trust me, it’s good, I drink it myself. I also make killer popsicles out of it for the boys. Golly, is there no end to the excitement? Lemonade! Popsicles! Triplets v. Cancer! Boo-YAH!
